Currently, we’re local to Reigate and anything within a 30-minute drive of it. Which means we currently cover: Reigate, Redhill, Bletchingley, Caterham, Coulsdon, Tadworth, Leatherhead, Dorking, Horley, and Gatwick. If you’re unsure if we can cover your area, please get in touch.
Our service charge per visit is £15. Most households request two visits a day for feeding and companionship, and to deter security risks in the dark winter months, when burglaries increase. We have a calculator below that gives you rates based on the number of daily visits and the number of days. You can also visit our pricing page.
The first step is always the hardest one. This is true for our clients, and it was true for us as well. Trusting a stranger with your home and your precious kitties can be nerve-wracking.
All of Wave and Whisker’s sitters are vetted and checked by the DBS to the highest standard, and this certification is renewed every year. The sitters are also trained in cat care and advanced first aid by a qualified body, and are cat guardians themselves. Wave and Whisker is fully insured, too.
Our process aims to establish trust and reward it with the best care in the market for your pets whilst you’re away. Meeting your sitter is an essential part of the process, as it allows them to meet your cats, familiarise themselves with the house and where everything is, and establish a tailored care plan that fits the cats’ needs.
The sitters are GPS tracked for your peace of mind. You will also receive photo and video updates on every visit, which helps you relax knowing your cat is being cared for and your home is being guarded.
We need to visit at least once a day to check in on the cats, either in the morning or in the afternoon. Our preferred and, thus far, most popular package is twice daily visits, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
When and how often we visit are flexible, which is why it’s vital for you to meet your sitter so they can develop a tailored care plan for your cats that you’re happy with.
It varies depending on the cat’s personality and their age. Young and brave kittens want lots of attention and are very happy to play, while more senior cats will enjoy the occasional cuddle and head/chin scratchies, but may soon want to keep to themselves and it’s important for us to respect that. After all, it’s their home. We stay as long as we can to ensure that they have everything they need, that they’re healthy and don’t feel lonely, as well as providing you with the photo updates.
We are responsible for the happiness and well-being of your feline whilst you are away, and thus we can act pretty quickly when we visit every day; this is also why the twice-daily visits is our most popular package. Visiting every 48 hours would not allow us to properly look after the cats and the home, which is why we don’t offer this option.
Yes, we can. Not only are our sitters cat guardians themselves, but they’ve also been trained by expert bodies in cat care and emergency aid.
If one of your cats becomes poorly or is in an accident, we will assess the situation, get your cat the veterinary help it needs, and let you know as soon as possible. If, for whatever reason, we can’t reach you, we will let your emergency contact know instead. As part of our tailored care plan, we have all the details of your cats, their vet, and the nearest out-of-hours veterinary surgery. We will keep you updated on all the details and handle any charges in accordance with our policy.
That’s not an issue. We will adjust our visiting schedules to overlap with when your cat is home, so that we can check on their well-being and make sure they’re happy and healthy, as well as fulfil our photo and video updates.
Security is our second priority, right after your cats’ well-being. We make sure our vehicles aren’t marked, we take refuse and recycle out on the relevant days and bring the bins back in, we collect your mail and parcels, open curtains during the day, turn on lights at night, and check throughout the house on our visits for signs of forced entry. Our sitters are part of the neighborhood watch and understand well how to spot and report suspicious activity.
All sitters are fully vetted and checked by DBS, including the highest and most intrusive background checks. We’re fully insured, and our sitters are GPS-tracked, so we know when and for how long they complete their visits.
We offer photo and video updates on each of our visits to help you relax, knowing your gorgeous kitties are in great hands. If you have any questions, our sitters will be happy to answer them straight away.
